Apple itself sees great potential in India, considering that last year the country was the second largest smartphone market in the world, behind China and above the US. So, Apple launched a strategy to manufacture older iPhones and sell them at affordable prices there, without any import duties from China. Foreign-made electronic products are subject to a 20 percent import duty to enter India. this time, India started producing the newest and premium iPhones. However, these products will be re-exported to the global market, because the iPhone market in India is still small, which is only 1 percent. Apple has also increased production in India to reduce dependence on China, where most of Apple’s products are produced there.
